When confronted with a lightning-fast blues run or a rapid Irish traditional tune (like a Reel or a Jig), you will notice that relying solely on your lungs and chest respiration creates a bottleneck. Your tongue and lips simply cannot keep up with the note changes. This phenomenon is known as "air lag" or "respiratory lag." To break through this threshold, you must shift your control center from the chest to the oral cavity by mastering advanced tonguing techniques and micro-scale articulation.
1. Tonguing Techniques: Adding "Precipitation and Crispness" to Your Notes
